Help needed in getting a good CFI job.

If you read his first post, he's not working as a CFI in the USA. That was the whole point of the thread.

Congratz on the job in Japan, Airman1985. After reading about the state of GA in Japan, it sounds like you are lucky to find a CFI job there.

It's crazy how high the standard is to be a pilot in Japan, and yet they let me fly a 767 into Narita from ANC with no more training than a company route check from LA to Honolulu. I know I pissed off the NRT controllers last time I was there. Why can't they just speak better english? haha.

From what I understand, the country with which the airplane is registered affects where the pilot certificate needs to be issued from. So if I am flying an airplane whose tail number starts with N, I don't have to get additional pilot certification. In addition to this, the reg. part 91 says that if a pilot is flying outside the U.S., they're required to comply with the each country's air traffic regulation. So for example, if you are flying JA registered airplane anywhere, I think a pilot would need to attain JCAB pilot licenses.

I totally agree with JCAB controllers' lack of language skills. Sometimes, it is called "Engrish"-- refer to www.engrish.com.
