It’s the old “so slow it gets bird strikes from behind” joke. Though usually it’s used on citations.I don't get it

Lol, nice autocorrectOh, I was figuring the chode thing on the tail got it.
My hometown growing up had service with Saabs in the bowling shoe livery. Once in a while my grandpa would pay for us to fly out of there instead of driving to MSP. Later I shared the pattern with them many times working on my private.Saab joke too. For those of you that remember it
The Saab 2000 "Aleutian Solution" should be online any day now right? The Saab 340 and the Saab 2000 were always airplanes I would have really liked to fly.
Too bad around these parts you had to make poverty wages at PenAir to do it back in the day…
Still, always thought those were cool airplanes.
Even if it was I don’t have any intention of riding in the back of one of those on the way out to Dutch, or really anything with less than 5,000 feet of clean and dry pavement lolThe Saab 2000 "Aleutian Solution" should be online any day now right?

I have a friend who recently retired from AS who came up through PenAir. He told me stories of flying Metro's to Dutch. No thanks...Even if it was I don’t have any intention of riding in the back of one of those on the way out to Dutch, or really anything with less than 5,000 feet of clean and dry pavement lol
I flew the 340A. It was a Cadillac. I've flown other turboprops and RJs, but the Saab was the most enjoyable commuter I've flown.
Right.I have a friend who recently retired from AS who came up through PenAir. He told me stories of flying Metro's to Dutch. No thanks...
Just don’t land with a tailwind!Even if it was I don’t have any intention of riding in the back of one of those on the way out to Dutch, or really anything with less than 5,000 feet of clean and dry pavement lol

During WWII Japan attacked Dutch Harbor several times.I think most know that.Right.
I’ve been out to Dutch a bunch of times over the years. To be honest, it’s insane out there and there aren’t any real alternates that are convenient. It really is remote. If you’re in a pinch you can go to Nikolski (only in a small airplane been there a bunch) or you can cruise all the way back to Cold Bay… but it’s a long way. And the weather is just, ludicrous when it’s bad.
