Hawaiian Strike vote

That's awesome, but what are the chances an airline gets released to self help again anytime in the next decade? I'm still astounded Spirit was actually allowed to strike.
From my limited understanding NWA didn't think that they would release the pilots and were banking on a PEB. While unlikely today and I personally highly doubt it, you never know.

What's the status of our interisland Pilots with this? I was told it's considered EAS so they wouldn't be allowed to participate..

"Hawaiian Pilots Overwhelmingly Authorize Strike"

You ever notice that whenever an ALPA group has a vote, the result is always "overwhelming"?

Someone needs to get their spokesperson a thesaurus.

Out of pure curiosity, how long have negotiations been ongoing at HAL? How many years did it take to reach this point?

Best of luck, ladies and gents of Hawaiian. Get 'em.

This. Airline labor in general is doing a poor job of convincing the American public that a disruption of America's air transport system is worth it. The public would view a SWA or UPS strike with almost the same animosity as a professional sports strike. Good luck getting released... I don't see it happening.

ALPA has requested the NMB release both parties from mediation due to the company's inability or lack of desire to negotiate realistically.

There are 4 more meeting days scheduled at the end of the month but as of now, nothing after that.
How long past amendable is the contract?
