Hawaiian hiring

Cpt Cook, I would say you could do asst dxer asap. I just read the "must get your licenses in 18 months" bit. So Im sure you would be an asset based on what people are saying about the current state of affairs there. And Im sure you could get your DX cert in just a few months time. So I would hit em up if that's what you want to do. Cant hurt. There are many former commercial pilots scattered all over the dispatch world.
I think that clause is there to leave the hiring manager an out with HR should a good internal prospect pop up. Never limit yourself from hiring good people if you can afford to be flexible.

Geeze guys, little harsh looking at this if I were a first-timer...keeping in mind how many things people (meaning: we all) have said about HAL, if you're in the market for a 121 opportunity and this is your first and only one on the horizon, it's worth considering.

ETOPS, big boy toys (767s, A330s, AND 717s!) And Hawaii is pretty cool, I hear. EXPENSIVE AS HELL, but yeah.

But, most importantly, there are worse places to work. One of my co-workers on here knows how much I love that mentality. From personal experience....it could definitely be worse.
