Hardest Interview Question

"Why do you want this job."

For the life of me I couldn't think of an answer better than "Cuz I want to fly jets."

Try stroking their ego a bit with this one. Think company culture, growth opportunity, etc. Obviously a little research about the company beforehand would lend well to a solid response.

I always have a hard time with the tell me a company policy at your current employer that you disagree with and how you dealt with it.you can dig a hole quickly with that one.

"Tell me your most favorite class in college"

I had a hard time with that one, because well, I had lots of classes that I enjoyed. I suppose it isn't the hardest question, just one that you wouldn't typically think of on an interview and it surprised me.

Yeah that one is a toughie too!

I agree that you can dig yourself into a hole.

I have found if I just ask someone at the company the question "why?" they will tell me why the policy exists. There is always a reason for the existence of a policy and the best outcome of asking "why" is that you learn something and then you can teach others the reasoning behind the policy not to mention make you a better pilot. Of course if you ask with the wrong attitude the question could come off bad and you may not like the results. It comes down to presentation. If you make sure they know it is to learn and teach other people about it then it really is a good thing and would actually show you are captain material.

The biggest question I don't want to answer is "What trait would you improve about yourself?" That type of question is begging for a negative answer.

I would change the fact that I work too hard and care too much.

Women Studies 1000, seriously. All I did was argue with the feminists, and the feminist teacher loved it. She said I was very "Jeffersonian" for asking the hard to ask questions.

So... Tell me about yourself.

talking about yourself is easy, making it interesting....not so much.

On topic: I have always found interview questions to be easy, I just turn it into a conversation, I am fairly good at BSing.

Humanistic Psychology. Attendance wasn't required, we had to come up with our own questions for our mid-term & final exams, grade our own exams, and assign ourselves a grade for the course. Easiest A ever. Incredibly, not everyone gave themselves an A grade.

I dont think the President of a company should sleep with their secretary in most cases. How did I handle it, well I enjoyed it.

IMO this quest is used when the interviewer needs a minute to write down a note or something. It is also to see what you might say that might not come out normally. Use this question to show you do things outside work. Hope to connect with the interviewer on a side subject ( they will remember you )

Why should we hire you?

"I'm a low time pilot trying to get whatever job I can get that I don't really deserve to get, please hire me...." Not that I would actually say that, but that what I'm thinking sometimes

Womens Studies 100 (screw this whole 1000 crap they instituted after I left, it's crap!!! :) ) was the bomb. I thought it was actually a really interesting course.

I did Women's Studies 8 as in 8 sisters, not so easy but fun at times.
