Hanging Upside Down!

I got a GoPro for Christmas and finally got the opportunity to put it to good use a couple of weeks ago and decided that it was too good of a video not to share it. The "Cleared to Smile" thread pushed me to share it with you guys.

I got the opportunity to take my fiance up in the Super Decathlon and decided to show her what the Earth looked like upside down. This is her first time being upside down, rolling, looping, or spinning.

Yes, I did use part of a certain song that has been used TOO MANY times in aviation videos. However, it's actually edited to the music and is only part of the song. I didn't plan on sharing this video online, but I think it can put a smile on somebody's face. I hope you guys enjoy it! :)

*Disclaimer: My "aerobatics" are not up to "competition" standard. I haven't practiced them lately. We had the opportunity to go up and have fun, so we did. So save the "You could use some practice on your rolls." I know. I could use some practice on getting the landing flare shorter too.

Haha I like your disclaimer.

Loved the video dude! Doesn't acro kick ass? :D
I'm super jealous and I wish there was a SuperD around here to rent. I've yet to fly anything with inverted fuel/oil and I can't wait to try.
Great job!

Looks like she had fun! Though she was looking a little green at the end... or maybe just disappointed that it was over. ~.^

Regardless, great video! ^.^ Not all acro is competition. As long as it's safe, rock on! And it looked fine to me.

I love the Super D. I miss flying it. :>

Look who commented on the video. Hmmm.

Looks like fun. One day when I have money I will have fun flying again (on a regular basis).

Thanks guys! I definitely got lucky with this girl. She loves going flying and actually handled the aerobatics and g's better than I did... :)

Guess I'll have to save up and get another GoPro so I can point it out the windscreen. I wanted to capture the expressions on her face this time around though.

She's a very cute girl and for her first time experiencing any of that, I can't believe there was no screaming! You have chosen well! My wife would have been screaming, cursing me out in Italian and would have killed me after we landed. lmao Great video. Thanks for posting it.

Great video. The acro is extremely addicting. I find myself asking why the clapped out Cessna I have been flying won't do what the Citabrias I used to fly do.

Awesome!

If your going to do it a lot, she might like 2in harness straps more... My wife has slim shoulders as well, an the 3 inch belts made her feel like they were falling off...

Assuming you have the option that is :)

Cool video!

One thing I tell my students and rides is to keep their hands on their laps, and never grab the shoulder straps (or anywhere close to the ripcord D-ring for that matter.)
