No, terminal O-4!! I did things my way, stayed in the cockpit, only one non-flying tour but you pay a price!
 
Customs is hiring, but do they have an age limit? Why would anyone turn down a sim gig for a regional and most majors. Being home and seeing your family sounds worth it to me.

Sounds like Republic doesn't give you an actual ticket to get to the interview but rather just a standby ticket. It's holiday time and standbys aren't going ANYWHERE.

Standby passenger bags are not supposed to be loaded until the standby actually is assigned a seat, but sometimes they go, even if the passenger doesn't actually make the flight.

That's my translation anyway.

Bunk, the lesson here is, when traveling as a standby don't check your bags. Think of it as your first 121 lesson.

(and sorry to hear you couldn't get to the Republic interview)

:) I think BobDDuck explained it for me. I got a standby ticket and there was no way I was going to get out of the airport and if I did, there was really no way to leave out of Houston, so I was told. My bag got checked on board, even after the guy called down to whoever and told the crew not to load it.
PSA had a seat for me, each way. Interview went well, they put me in a pilot pool.

Yeah, I am way new to all of this 121 stuff.
 
Didn't see it mentioned, but are you interested in only 121 flying? Or have you thought corporate?

I was just asking because with your qualification, I couldn't imagine going into a regional. I completely understand the fact that you have to start at the bottom anywhere, and I think you have an awesome attitude when it comes to that, but after 20yrs of flying in the military I think you deserve something better. Some corporate gigs still have good schedules and good pay. Not sure how much longer you have until you retire, but I would start talking to other pilots on the 91/135 sides of things about potential jobs available if you're interested in that kind of flying. Start carrying a couple resume's with you too, or at least have one easily accessible to you online so you can print it anywhere. I know you guys sometimes stop at FBOs for fuel, and you never know who you'll meet that may have an open seat for you.

The problem for Bunk is that corporate flight operations....when there's any choice of military guys available......always want an Air Force guy over any Navy/Marine/Army guy. Just a fact of life Bunk is going to have to accept.

It's the firm arrivals, isn't it? That is my money making idea of the day - allow these newly retired Navy/Marine vets use some of their GI Bill on a transition course at my new 141 school where we teach them to land. Anyone want in? It should make thousands.

Believe me, I want the majors or something better but as far as the majors go, they are not hiring. United might be the first out the gate and I have a resume in via airlineapps but right now, it's all regionals. I have my resume in for the T-45 simulator job which pays way more than a regional,$80-90K part time but then there goes my flight time. Is there a good website for the 91/135 side? I go to climbto350.com but it seems many of those jobs require time in model or a type in their jet.

You guys do ATP at your 141 school? I have no problem learning to land like your average aviator, a big step down for us Naval Aviators who land like Gods :biggrin:
 
I live in Corpus and I'm willing to move depending on where it is. I hate Corpus Christi, Texas. Hate is a strong word but that's how I feel about it.
