Just get 11 more multi hours and you're in.
... and why are you wizzing in a bucket anyways...
they dont pay for your ticket to the interview, they dont pay you during training, they pay you extremely poorly once you do start flying.... why does anyone put up with this place when other companies are hiring? Go to Ameriflight if you wanna fly a 1900
Agreed. That's what I did. Awesome flight experience plus Im pretty sure I made 50% more than a lakes captain and I kept my dignity.
I know the pay I a huge draw back, but when I look back at having had a $144 paycheck for 2 weeks of instructing, I know my pay will INCREASE there. Any bad month of pay at lakes will surely be better than a good week of instructing. I'm very frugal and can live off it, because I'm used to it. maybe others go there because they want to get some good experience with weather, mountain flying, get awesome at hand flying and their instrument scan, and multi turbine PIC pretty quick. While others will still be sitting in the right seat in their 2 or 3rd year of an RJ waiting to upgrade, someone having flown at lakes will have left after their 15 months with some nice turbine pic and be on their way to a major flying something bigger and better. Believe me, I would've loved to be going to eagle, or preferably mesaba or colgan (for the Saab), but that isn't happening this time, I need to go to lakes cause it's my only option. But I will make the best of it, and do the best that I can, it could always be worse. I could be back in the army sleeping in a puddle on a cold night again.
Don't listen to the bitter naysayers. Get on at lakes and get your 1000 TPIC and sure as Bob's your Uncle, Virgin Intergalactic will call you to be a Street Captain on the Space Shuttle Replacement. Seniority is everything!
I believe that they already are below that.Does anyone know what the competitive mins are at lakes for someone w/o internal rec or knowing anyone? Are they hiring enough to drop the mins below 750/50?
Got an email yesterday detailing there procedures and required recent experience. I'm yet to reply any advise would be welcome.
Any updates as to if GLA is still interviewing and scheduling classes? I've got a buddy dropping my resume, not sure I'll qualify with 300/15, but worth a shot.
Is lakes similar to go jet when it comes to it looking badly during future interviews?
