Got my student pilot certificate in the mail today

Idk, a participation trophy piece of plastic takes away the thrill of getting the actual cert in the mail IMO. Too bad they went this way, I guess they're cool to have if you don't want to finish your PPL but want to just get to the solo phase and have something for it.

One of these fellows personally pen and inked my grandfather’s pilot certificate.......it was Orville, and i still have the little booklet that was his pilot cert back in the 1920’s. It seems wild, but none of us are that far removed from those guys

It would be nice to meet them and ask them why they let the French name airplane stuff.
