actual today:nana2::nana2::nana2: anyone else? gorgeous night for it, went up around 630 in the SEMI and flew for 1.5, then PD'd a cirrus tonight for another 0.8. not bad for 5 approaches total

was about 300ft and 1SM when i landed after the last approach

Wow, sounds exciting. Unluckily enough I'm stuck VFR until spring. I'm really looking forward to IFR. 300 ft and 1sm, that's nuts. :D

I can only imagine how it feels to break out of the clouds and see the runway...woohoo. :nana2:

at night too! we had to shut off the strobes on the SR20 because they were just blinding. made it pitch black until you broke out of the clouds, it was pretty sweet

You really need to go freight, bro. You'd love it.

Uftah, I can't wait to get done with this VFR flying... Turns around a point get kinda boring after awhile. I did get to do an instrument approach the other night... Didn't have a hood, but followed the ILS 35L in, and tipped my head up and the runway was right in front of me. That is such a sweet sight! I seriously can't wait to get going on instrument!

once i meet Airnet's mins i will, i refuse to go there with less than 135 mins because i can't live off 7/hr for SIC. has been my plan for the last 4 years

Sounds like a good plan... when do you think you'll have the mins?

around next Feb, not entirely sure yet, the only thing i will be lacking on is the XC time, as currently i only have around 250, so maybe 300-350ish by then. is that something waivable or would i still need to do the SIC thing?

I mean flying from one airport to another, no matter the distance. If you fly from your home airport to another that's 5 NM away, that counts. That's the XC part 135s are looking for.

oh, well then i definetly meet that time, just couple hundred more TT

realistically i will be trying to start there in May when my wife is done with school, but maybe it would be better to start earlier so i can try to get a different base?

Hard to say. Bases are coming open all the time. It just depends. You could show up and get your base of choice right away, or you might have to wait.

I got my base because NOBODY wanted it. Not sure why - I love it here.

Went up for 1.0 in the Cirrus this morning, but only logged .5 actual. Top of the layer was at 2,800, and of course we were getting vectored around at 3000. Still, it was a lot of fun flying around between layers and shooting the ILS down to 300/1.

By the way, is the guy who filed an altitude of 500 (instead of 050) this morning on here? I heard that and started cracking up ;)

I went up and got 1.9 actual. Today instead of my student flying I PD'd and just did a few approaches in a WARG( i know dont get to fly the SR-20 because I am lame) and well just watched the clouds fly by. :) hey airplaneerik my girls liked your pocket bikes the best during the homecoming parade.
