Got Fired!!!

Well, its possible to get it through part 91 flying and a lucky break... at least thats how I got my turbine time w/low times.....Yeah, sure may find it funny, some may envy.....I know I'm young, so I'm willing to sacrafice a lot in order to reach my goal ASAP... I dont mind living with my parents while working a low paying job... so long as it means that I'm advancing in aviation (i.e., earning turbine time)... I got a lucky break with this job and if I didn't take it, there are many others that would hae.....I know there are others who actually pay for such a thing (i.e., Vision Air pilots)....I know some pilots frown upon people who take these kinds of jobs.....however, I'm proud knowing that I'll be well qualified for the airlines by the time I reach my 21st birthday.... with 800+ hours AND over 100 hours turbine!.... and all I had to do was sacrafice the pay to get the turbine time.... something I didnt mind doing.

First off, let me say it sucks you lost your job as it would suck for anyone. I won't comment on your spelling or subject jumping. With that being said...do you not see some of the problems that people may have? With your comments above and especially some from an earlier post about the King Air position:
I'd take 1500 anytime for PIC turbine.....

There was another comment you had that in effect said...He didn't want to pay someone $xx,xxx so he'd pay me $xx,xxx.

I know I am not in the position to be hired, but I think the biggest problem that some have or may have is the whole idea of people being paid a significant amount less than what they should just becuase said employer knows they can find someone that wants PIC/Jet/etc... time.

Anyway, good luck with future opportunities.

The Air Group is looking for KA captians out of VNY. You only need 750 hrs since you need time in type. Also check out Sprit aviation.

I find it funny that pilots think they should be immune to supply and demand.

A pilot should be paid what the market allows for. If an employer wants to hire a less experianced person and pay him/her less, that is his/her perogotive.

You do not have a god given right to make X amt for X job. If a person wants to take a job for whatever reason, who the hell are you to say that they should ask for more.

Im a 1,100TT Twin Otter PIC. Im not an employer, I just understand how the system works. And no, I am not undercompensated. However, If felt that I needed to take a job like this for 1/2 the pay because I needed the money at that time, wanted the particular experience of some operation, wanted to fly that particular plane, or wanted to su*k the owners balloons.. that is my choice!

Supply and demand. That is how the world works. Get over it!

For crice cakes!

The Bildebergers and the whole "Skull and Bones" group are gonna love you! ;)

You know....I'd like some experience in a 757........I'd do it for 20,000 a year. Hell itd be doin what I love. Sorry about the fam Doug....you'll just have to accept supply and demand. You know...the airline could probably save allot of money if I payed for my own type rating. Good thing I like ramen and hotdogs and my parents didn't ever want me to make it on my own.

Im not saying it doesnt suck. But you cant blame the individual for doing what he or she feels is the best way for him or her to get ahead in this career.

Yes as a whole it brings down the industry and payscales, and that sucks. I dont like it either.

All im saying is that you cant single out one person and chew them out for doing something that, in your view from your perch making 30/50/100+K per year, think its going to hurt you. Its easy for that person to say that....but for the guy who took the job, he was just trying to get to where you are, as fast as possible...or maybe was just trying to squeak by 300 per week to put food ont he table for his little one.

This is the reason unions exist...so that you can stand up and say no, because everyone is together in a group and everyone will stand together.

This isnt so in part 91 aviation.

I dont mean to come off as a supporter of this type of thing. Im not. But, im just saying dont judge other pilots. They are doing what they believe they have to do.

umm, well its gonna be hard for him to feed a family when all the jobs are takin by people willing to work for sub-par wages. There may not be a union in part 91 but taking a stance that says pay me what I'm worth does about the same.

By the way I dont see myself breaking 30k a year for a while and yes Ive told potential employers that I thought they weren't offering a fair salary and turned down jobs.

Good points here and there.... I'd just like to add that I believe 20k is fair for someone with my time.... However, If I did have 2500 hours and 500 turbine, I wouldn't accept anything less than 40k for a job like this.... I just believe that for the amount of hours I had, the pay was very fair... like I said, if I didn't take the job, someone else with low time would have... so I took advantage.

You wont find that 40K job b/c that owner will go to a flight school and find someone to fly it for 20K. I applaud your truthfulness though.

Thats true. Sucks eh?

There may not be a union in part 91 but taking a stance that says pay me what I'm worth does about the same.

ummm, well not quite. Its very very easy for a part 91 operator to just hire someone else. Whereas a unionized employer would have to hire hundreds and hundreds of new employeees.

I took a first aid course with the red cross. Got a certificate of completion. I can diagnose a cold, poison ivy, can apply a tournaquet and can do some cpr. I could probably prescribe some pennicilin (can I even spell it though?), benadryl...(wait, do you need a prescription for that)...definitely viagra. For all those who don't want to pay high doctor bills...come on over to my basement...for $5 I will fix you right up. No need to go to a real doctor. I can play one....I mean suffice for one just fine. See I look good with my stethoscope and white jacket. Actually...it's pretty much just a hobby...I love playing doctor so much...I don't care if I ever make any money at it. I'll deliver pizzas and newspapers to help pay the bills.

Disclaimer...this is an entirely fictional account. Nothing in the post is true. I don't play doctor...would never even try to accept the responsibility belonging to the true professional. Do not come over to my basement.

I hope this post sounds as silly as what I read previously in this thread.

And at the same time, please accept my apologies. I truly hate sarcasm.

I'm sorry this is off the subject, but do doctors prescribe a viagra to women? Meaning are there any drugs to boost women?

Boost what? Make their nipples harder?

Haha Texasspilot, I think this Joe Nichols song really fits...

She said I'm going out with my girlfriends
Margaritas at the Holiday Inn
Oh have mercy, my only thought
Was tequila makes her clothes fall off

I told her put an extra layer on
I know what happens when she drinks pettrone
Her closet's missing half the things she bought
Yeah tequila makes her clothes fall off

She'll start by kicking off her shoes
Lose an earring in her drink
Leave her jacket in a bathroom stall
Drop a contact down the sink

Them pantyhose ain't gonna last too long
If the DJ puts Bon Jovi on
She might come home in a tablecloth
Tequila makes her clothes fall off

[/hijack]

yah....that was last ex's theme song and it was like her trigger to get a shot and drag me out on the dance floor.

Heres my future ex's theme song. (by the way, im a pretty firm believer that every relationship shold be defined by a song)

----------
All right boys, this is her favorite song, you know that, right?
So, if we play it good and loud, she might get up and dance again.
Ooh, she put her beer down: here she comes, here she comes.
Left, left, left, right, left: whoo.

Husslers shootin' eight-ball,
Throwin' darts at the wall,
Feelin' damn near ten feet tall.
Here she comes, Lord help us all.
Ol' T.W.'s girlfriend done slapped him out his chair,
Poor ol' boy, it ain't his fault: it's so hard not to stare.

At that honky tonk badonkadonk,
Keepin' perfect rhythm: make you wanna swing along.
Got it goin' on like Donkey Kong,
And ooh ee, shut my mouth, slap your grandma,
There outta be a law; get the Sheriff on the phone.
Lord have mercy, how's she even get them britches on.
That honky tonk badonkadonk.
(Aw sorry.)

Now, honey, you can't blame her,
For what her Mama gave her.
It ain't right to hate her,
For workin' that money-maker.
Band shuts down at two but we're hangin' out till three:
We hate to see her go but love to watch her leave.

With that honky tonk badonkadonk,
Now, keepin' perfect rhythm: make you wanna swing along.
Got it goin' on like Donkey Kong,
And ooh ee, shut my mouth, slap your grandma,
There outta be a law; get the Sheriff on the phone.
Lord have mercy, how's she even get them britches on.
With that honky tonk badonkadonk.

We don't care 'bout the drinkin', barely listen to the band.
Our hands, they start a shakin' when she gets the urge to dance.
Drivin' everybody crazy: you think you fell in love.
Boys, you better keep your distance: you can look but you can't touch.

With that honky tonk badonkadonk,
Now, keepin' perfect rhythm: make you wanna swing along.
Got it goin' on like Donkey Kong,
And ooh ee, shut my mouth, slap your grandma,
There outta be a law; get the Sheriff on the phone.
Lord, have mercy, how's she even get them britches on.
That honky tonk badonkadonk.

That honky tonk badonkadonk
Yeah, that honky tonk badonkadonk

Haha nice! I love that song. When it comes to ex's though, I'd say I associate most with "Kerosene" by Miranda Lambert. :p

B767Driver,

I agree.

But again, if some guy wants to pay 5 dollars for your unskilled medical treatments, then that is his or her perogitive.

And if that is all the medical training that you do have, then you should not be paid any more than 5 dollars.

Will other doctors give a crap? No. Reputable hospitals with reputable doctors attract smart customers who know that they get what they pay for.

All im saying is dont judge lest ye be judged...or something like that.
