haha, there's an eye-catching title

Anyway, I was released from my job because they were unable to insure me on their brand new Falcon 10. Perfectly understandable, which is why I'm not pissed off or anything. I'm just glad I was able to get 100 hours PIC turbine from them.

Looks like its back to instructing! Hopefully with my time, I can finally find something in SoCal.

Anybody know of anything in SoCal????? I have about 420 hours as a CFI

Sorry to hear that. Now in hindsight, why would the powers at be send you to training for the plane without knowing in advance if you would be insurable? It seems odd that they would spend all of the money for the training without knowing about insurability. Anyhow, good luck in finding your next gig.

I know a month or so ago Riverside Air Service out of KRAL was looking for CFIs. they were starting at 17-19 per hour. Also i think Lenair out of KSNA is always looking for instructors. at least thats what they say on their website. good luck

Sucks to hear that man...Good luck in your search. I'm flying out of Long Beach flying club, and they use freelance instructors. Not sure if they need anymore though

No, I never got typed in the Falcon. The plan was to fly with them for 50 hours and then get typed, but then they figured out that either way I wouldn't qualify for the insurance.

I have 422 hours dual given.... almost 800TT

Should be around the LGB area tomorrow handing out resumes... hopefully it won't be too hard finding a gig

So how in the hell did you get 100 hours PIC turbine from them.......?

I believe he was driving the King Air for them prior to the Falcon training.

As PIC with that kind of time? Come on. They must not have insurance. Unless he was flying with an MEI under part 91 regs. Where did you go to training on the 90........These are the kind of questions you'll be asked on an interview. I'm just curious..

I AM an MEI and we did fly under part 91. Had insurance under my name in the states and in mexico. Flew with a guy from inflight review to get familiar with the airplane..... it was a very lucky break.

Smokey...dude...the kid just lost his job and all you can do is kick him in the nuts? Come on, man!

Just a lucky break... its part 91, not 135, and the owner didnt want to pay 50k for someone, so he found me at the local school, paid for training and only pays me 20k, but its just as much as some regionals... so I'm satisfied

This is so crazy, its almost funny. Actually it is funny, im kinda lauging in disbelief.

Well, its possible to get it through part 91 flying and a lucky break... at least thats how I got my turbine time w/low times

I"m still looking for a pilot job... I'd really like to stay in SoCal... dont think I can move again, unless it was for a airline job... even if it means going to Scenic

Yeah, sure may find it funny, some may envy, some may be happy...

Whatever... I remember almost two years ago when people had a bewildered look on their face when they saw an 18 year old MEII... it wasn't easy trying to convince employers and then students that I WAS capable and I was VERY qualified to teach someone how to fly.....

I know I'm young, so I'm willing to sacrafice a lot in order to reach my goal ASAP... I dont mind living with my parents while working a low paying job... so long as it means that I'm advancing in aviation (i.e., earning turbine time)... I got a lucky break with this job and if I didn't take it, there are many others that would hae.... I know there are others who actually pay for such a thing (i.e., Vision Air pilots)....

I know some pilots frown upon people who take these kinds of jobs... however, I'm proud knowing that I'll be well qualified for the airlines by the time I reach my 21st birthday.... with 800+ hours AND over 100 hours turbine!.... and all I had to do was sacrafice the pay to get the turbine time.... something I didnt mind doing.

I took a fat loan to get me where I am today... and it doesnt bother me one bit... Some pilots make a lot of money... some make peanuts.... I dont care... I'll pay off my loan and have a place to live eventually... but I'll be doing what I love.... I've been doing it since High School and hopefully I'll do it the rest of my life..... and throughout my life I'll wake up with a smile in my face because of what I do, NOT because of how much money I make!

*I know I jumped from subject to subject here and there... and there might be some mispelling.... so dont bother commenting on that, haha
