Got an SUPT Interview!!

Just a bump along the road, no big deal. Apparently you've got what it takes to garner an interview so I'm sure it won't be your last opportunity.

No offense to southern members on the board, but it would not surprise me one bit if they passed on you because you weren't a fellow southern boy. The folks here are friendly, but make no mistake.....the rest of us are just visitors. I would agree that a unit a little closer to home would probably work out well. In other words, don't get down on yourself; this is a hard region of the country to assimilate into.

Get out o' here, ya damn yankee.

2 on what he said. My unit blatantly says in their hiring document that "Texas residents are preferred" and something along those lines.

Sorry to hear you didn't get the slot. Use it as a learning experience and rock the next one(s).

Just got an email not too long ago saying that I wasn't the right fit for the unit. So on to the next unit. I am going to try and stay closer to home this time though. There is no way I can keep spending that much money for numerous interviews. It would have been a great unit though. I think I am going to contact a reserve recruiter and active duty recruiter as well now.

Hey Bud,

Sorry to hear it...like everyone said, just keep at it. The fact that you got an interview nowadays says a LOT! I'm in the same boat right now. Just got the "thanks but no thanks" letter from a unit I just interviewed with.

It'll happen for ya...good luck!
