Good News For Delta Connection - 202 New Flights At Lga

My wife summed it best when I showed her DL's schedule between DFW and LGA and asked her if she would be using DL for her business trips:

"I'm not sitting on a F*@#ing RJ for 4 hours!"

The E145 flights are operated by CHQ
The E170/175 flights are operated by Shuttle America

The CRJ-700/900 flights are mostly Comair and GoJet.

Looks like Comair is getting most of that flying.

As of tomorrow, I see roughly 13 daily AA flights between LGA and DFW on 737s and MD80s. I wonder if DAL feels that they can be more competitive on that routing using RJs.

It also concerns me in the respect that, when re-organizing under Ch. 11, AA can claim that they need scope relief because of what DAL is able to do on competing routes.

LGA-DFW is a huge business market for AA. I can't see them putting RJ's on that route, no matter how much scope is lost.

You'd also think that Continental would never have put an ERJ on ORD-EWR. But there it was on my pairing...

The list of routes goes on.

I thought the same thing a few years ago until I tried it. Wasn't bad at all, in fact I almost prefer it.

Good news for Delta Connection - 202 new flights to be added at LGA announced today.
Not sure which DL Connection carriers will get them, but the equipment will include the EMB-145, EMB-170, EMB-175, CRJ-700, & CRJ-900.

Also, there will be 18 new flights added at LGA for Delta mainline pilots.

...And finally, a question for anyone who flies the EMB-170. Can that jet make it from LGA to DFW with a full load, typical headwinds, and enough fuel for an alternate? Thanks.
Yes, Looks like around 1200-1300 miles and that is within range easily. 170 routinely does flights of this length in United Express colors. Shouldnt be a problem and take a Jumpseater too.

Glad to see we're getting some more flying on the CHQ side of things at least...
I think its more of a shift then growth for all parties involved, espeically CHQ.
Instead of showing up and doing LGA-ILM for USAir Express itll just be DL.

The big beef of the DALPA forums is that well, the company came to the union and in a real roundabout way said, "We need your boys on this! This means JAAAAAWBZZZZZ" and like good little troopers, we wrote letters, called our elected representatives and lobbied to get the slot swap approved because it was supposed to mean over a thousand pilot jobs for Delta.

Now when the announcement comes out that it's pretty much all regional flying, there's a huge fire brewing over there because some of us feel duped for our efforts.

EWR DFW flights are all on regionals

Really? EWR-DFW is all Continental mainline and AA mainline. As of right now there is only one RJ on the JFK-DFW which is a DL CRJ-900.
