Good Job FBI

Happened to a captain at another job. They said his bag tested positive for explosives, but the explosives guy wasn’t at work, so they detained him for 2 hours until someone showed up. They didn’t let him use his phone to call the company.
Sound legit

Humm Maybe DL pilots enjoy Dominatrix activities.. :p
Any DL people around ?

"placed him in the shower" = Water boarding ?

This guy is very lucky, if he works this mishap correctly, the lawsuits against the agencies involved and the hotel (for allowing this type of activity) should provide him with a pretty good retirement package

Tell that to the numerous folks who have suffered the indignities of death -or worse!;)- after erroneous no-knocks or neck-sittings executed by local Barney Fife, volunteer fire-fighter types of cops.

Luckily all that happened was interrogation. Would've been really interesting if they had access to a weapon in the hotel room -> FFDO.

Trying to comprehend why the FBI/DOD was doing a training exercise at a $300+ a night hotel in the first place. Sure, they want 'realistic' but this seems like an odd choice. You better have an entire floor blocked off as well just for this. I'd be suing the hotel as well.

It happens with some frequency. And often times the hotel doesn't know anything about it ahead of time.

Curious, have a source for that by chance? Private property and all I wonder what the legalities are. Still, sounds like this guy opened the door and let them in. In the off chance this ever happens again to someone...I say no thanks, call the local PD, front desk and keep the door locked.

Several years of playing various "actor" roles for alphabet agencies in these scenarios.

They almost always let local law enforcement know, but the locations could get pretty dynamic as things unfolded so they weren't always made aware. A hotel may be private property, but by renting a room in it (as long as everything took place in that room and "public" areas of the property) it was ok I guess.

And yes... don't ever open your hotel door unless you know who it is.

Huh, didn't know such a thing existed but makes enough sense. I'd wager they need to do a much better job at managing the situation obviously and yeah, maybe not choose a relatively nice hotel in a popular downtown location.
