IACRA for AGI Application

Just submitting the IACRA application doesn't get it sent in. Your reccommending CFI has to review & electronically sign it and so does the DPE (or ASI from the FSDO). The only difference is that it's electronic rather than paper.
I am applying for "AGI". So, I don't think I need CFI or DPE to sign for me. Right?

.Springfield eh? Isn't there one in every state?
I've been to a lot of places, but I must have missed at least seven states. Ever since Obama said he had visited all 57 states I keep wondering where those other seven are located. Maybe it is starts with Area 51 and goes on until it reaches Area 57.

I refuse to use IACRA until it is fixed or until they say "8710s are not allowed".
I know of a couple examiners who will charge extra if the applicant has not used IACRA. The IACRA process if far less likely to produce an error and the examiners can have their authority removed for submitting too many applications that are in error.

Re: Application for Ground Instructor (AGI)

I wonder how long does it take for the piece of green plastic card to be mailed to applicant?
It depends on the workload at Airman Registry in Oklahoma City. Last winter, when the weather was bad and the economy was worse, the workload was so light that there were days when an applicant would take a test using IACRA in the morning and their application would be processed that afternoon. Right now, the lag time is about six weeks. You can call Airman Registry: http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/contact_airmen_certification/ and find out what approximate certificate issue date is being worked that week. It is one of the selections in the voice mail.

It was a hidden message to all our protected territories to watch their six.

I finally got mine in the mail today- checkride was on 3/18. I imagine they had a huge additional workload in Oklahoma City the last several weeks having to send out plastic cards to everybody who was still using their old paper certificates.

Fantastic! I search my own database.

It is already in record.
Now, here's comes the trouble part. I've just submitted my request through online IACRA and I wonder how FAA going to handle. :dunno:

Your IACRA application will just sit in the system awaiting an electronic signature from someone at the FSDO. Without that, the application never gets processed. Not a big deal, in other words.

Application for Instrument Instructor (IGI)

Your IACRA application will just sit in the system awaiting an electronic signature from someone at the FSDO. Without that, the application never gets processed. Not a big deal, in other words.
Now, if I were to apply for IGI, that's means, I still have to be physically at the FSDO to show them the piece of test result, despite if I were to apply through IACRA?

Yes. Just because it's electronic, IACRA doesn't eliminate the need for approval signatures. The signatures are done electronically

IACRA IGI Application

Now, I am going to apply for IGI plastic "green-card".

Can I post my test result to FSDO to process for me? If yes, do I have to surrender AGI "green-card" to them (FSDO) at the same time?

*By the way, I have yet received my "green-card" till now. :dunno:

Stupid FAA

I have applied on the March 19 and till now, I still did not receive that plastic green-card!

Anybody know what's going on with FAA? Why are they so inefficient?

I am going to meet a DPE soon and can I apply IGI through a DPE (of course using IACRA) instead of going all the way to FSDO office?

Re: Stupid FAA

Yeah, You are kind of coming up on those 90 days.
If you don't have anything after this week, I would call.

The OK City FAA has been fast lately...maybe a little too fast.

About my certificate, I called the FSDO.

True enough, FAA goofed up! I have been waiting for 3 months! No wonder it took so long!

FAA is a federal government body and yet can be so clumsy and stupid.
