GoJet Airlines

I was about to ask... How did GoJet pilots end up getting better pay? Anyone care to share how that came about?

It's all a sham. The contract has higher payrates but takes away from total compensation with horrible work rules and no soft pay. A 50-seat TSA Captain will make more than a -900 driver at GoJet.

Where did I or anyone else call them SCABs? I call them pseudo-scabs. In my opinion, they aren't SCABs. They're actually worse. At least a SCAB waits until you go on strike to steal your job.

I love it. Kinda of like having some one screw your wife while you are home.

How about some proof from Aloft that innocent little Hulas just happened to create this company because poor Hulas couldn't get the evil TSA pilots to fly it. PCL 128 is 100% correct on the MEC talks. My best friend worked at TSA for 4 years.

Aloft, what we are saying is common knowledge. You are the one who needs proof. Obviously you don't work in the industry with an attitude like that towards ALPA. ALPA is not perfect, but it beats being on your own against management. Go work for GoJet! I would be more than happy to deny you a jumpseat some day.
Ask yourself this..........
Why do most GoJet guys take there logos off their uniforms or say they fly for Trans States Holdings?

If even a fraction of that is true, screw ALPA. What a bunch of unprofessional, devoid-of-integrity B.S.

And if there is the slightest possibility that the perceptions of GoJet are false, and yet you allow them to perpetuate, you've done far more to harm the profession than any GoJet pilot has.

Ignorance and Greed do harm. GoJet is both. Pilots that are either to ignorant or have to much self interest to do whats right. Just like all the steroid talk in baseball.

Aloft- Even if GoJets guys are not the true defacto definition of scab, the fact that 98% of the industry label GoJets as "pseudo-scabs" or whatever you'd like to call it and you continue to attempt to defend them, says only one thing... You are the type of guy who should work there... You and GoJetters are cut from the same cloth..

Go there, enjoy your career..

When you try to go to another airline:

PRAY - that someone across the table is as sympathetic are you are..
PRAY - that the guy interviewing you isn't Ex-TSA..

This industry is waaaay to small to hose someone or in the GoJets case - an entire pilot group..

Scabs or not, they are KNOWN as what they are and you still have wishes to work there.. Go, and good riddance to you...

PRAY - that someone across the table is as sympathetic are you are..
PRAY - that the guy interviewing you isn't Ex-TSA..

But it doesn't just stop there. You'll also have to pray that everyone you come into contact with during training isn't out to get you because of your background. Then you'll have to hide your background during your probie year so the Captains you fly with don't write you up to try to get rid of you. Then you'll have to pray that the checkairman that does your PC/PT every year doesn't have a vendetta against GoJet pilots. Do you really want to be looking over your shoulder constantly for your entire career? Remember, there are plenty of guys like me out there that don't want a GoJet pilot anywhere near my cockpit. We'll do what it takes to make sure it doesn't happen.

You are right PCL..

I mean, why would you want to work at an airline where guys HIDE their ID badges?

If everything was hunky dory at GoJets, no one would ever hide their ID..

And yet again, you offer no proof; therefore, this is mere supposition on your part.

Simply restating the same thing over and over again doesn't make it true.

Bush started this war for oil!

Bush started this war for oil!

DAMN THAT KETTLE IS BLACK!11

Six pages. Why is this argument even continuing? Obviously aloft has made up his mind on this issue, and no amount of facts will change that. I just hope some of those who have yet to make their way into the airlines take note of the information presented here and make an informed decision about a career at GoJets.

Without reading a single reply in this "thread", I am willing to bet a weeks pay this is the usual lame ad nauseum Go Jet stuff. Must be a slow day.

Matt, I haven't made up my mind about anything except that there are some awfully unprofessional people in the pilot ranks out there, people with little integrity.

I just want to know the TRUTH about GoJet, and I'm not willing to accept hearsay about it. Why is it that nobody can substantiate anything considered "common knowlegdge" regarding all the GoJet rumors? Why is it that everybody is so quick to accept this as fact? Apathy? Everybody's got a friend someplace who swears up and down how it went down, but nobody here has any firsthand knowledge of the matter.

One of the purposes of higher education is to help students become critical consumers of information, teaching them the skills necessary to evaluate incoming information for evidence of logical fallacy, bias, deception, ulterior motives, etc. In reading this thread, I'm beginning to question just how many of you even went to college.

Oh, the one thing I HAVE decided is that PCL_128 and the scumbag thugs at NWA deserve each other:

Certain groups of people need to be weeded out. If the interviewers don't take care of it, then others will have to. I'm proud to say that many GoJet pilots took jobs at Pinnacle, many of them hoping to be street Captains, but not a single one of them has made it past OE. Coincidence? You judge for yourself. I already know the answer.

With an attitude like that, YOU need to be weeded out.

What sort of "proof" are you looking for? I'm sorry, but ALPA doesn't video tape negotiating sessions.
I'm looking for ANYTHING. A link, news story, minutes from those sessions, anything verifiable and not based on hearsay. You've offered nothing other than your fervent belief, and I'm not buying it.

I'm telling you exactly what happened.
And I reject this simply because you are not in a position to have direct knowlegdge of what happened. Cite a valid, reputable source, and I'll recant.
