Freedom Dash 8 operation in JFK is a joke! Mesa leased the oldest Dash 8s in the world. N810LR is Dash8-100 S/N 003. If anyone knows about how production works the first two or three of the production line are test birds. Material support is a nightmare beyond comapare. I thought when I was in the Navy and trying to upkeep and fly in over 30 year old helos that would be the hardest job ever, but this takes the cake. Delta has to be out of their minds! It's going to bite them and Mesa in the a$$.
I've been on Freedom three times between JFK and PWM. Once was subbed for an ERJ, because the startup has gone so horrendously. The other 2 times there were FRL ERJs parked to go to other destinations.
I never realized 810 was the oldest -8 in the world. That was one that I was on and that would describe the experience perfectly. The leasing agent probably gave them for free the plane to get it off of their ramp, and in the air.
