That's affecting the entire industry. We're all going to take it in the shorts because of fuel costs and I'll say it, this is an optional war with no goal other than distraction.

Sadly, I think NK is just the first victim with others to come.

It’s not as simple as that either. As a business if you topple over when a variable changes then your foundation wasn’t very good. No one else has shut down due to fuel costs. They’ve raised prices and passengers numbers haven’t changed.

It’s almost as if we shouldn’t have shut the entire economy down for the flu. There’s a lot of blame to go around for Spirit. I hurt for those that lost their job yesterday. Hopefully they find new gigs quickly.

Every airline has scaled back expectation for 2026, as a whole - fuel going up 80% in two months is a tough hill to climb. There was a lot going on with Spirit prior to the DOJ ruling, it isn’t all fuel pricing, but current events didn’t help Spirit either.

Well that certainly dissolves all responsibility. Sure, do whatever you want to create chaos and then let’s rationalize it!

Covid was a global pandemic that gutted families and millions of lives were lost. Combating the virus was a scientific response. Some honored the science, others decided to continue the spread and so things continued on longer than they should have. Comparing that to the whims of a temu dictator is not even in the same zip code. To rationalize and reduce this completely optional Iran action to the pandemic and then claim you “hurt” while still probably supporting the temu dictator , is real rich.

Spirit’s management, or mismanagement as it may be, seems to have had a hand in things going south also. Doesn’t seem to be only outside factors of whatever kind. Their golden parachutes should signal everything needed to know about them.

We’ve scaled domestic and international expansion and even cut some existing markets because of fuel costs.

My company still owns an operational oil refinery and we’re still getting killed because of the Middle East situation we volunteered ourselves for.

Oh, our union was frank with us in our summary for June bidding that the company is already cutting flights and that’s one of the reasons for lower line values. There’s still a percentage I’m sure who will rant and rave about “it’s just FUD to get you to take a crap JCBA!!” Or “it’s normal cycles!” Or “midterms!!!”.

I guess the way I look at it is that Spirit was existing with a highly compromised immune system and Trump's idiocy is the opportunistic infection that ultimately killed it. But when the JetBlue merger was "86'd" wasn't the handwriting on the wall realistically anyway?

I'd like for @derg to set me aside a special sub forum and I will host a ZoomSkype to talk about my ideas to help airline pilots create a supplemental income to help as a financial bridge over troubled waters. I have worked up and modeled some foolproof plans to fit anyone's interest. For animal lovers I have a concept utilizing Alpacas. For financial types I have a great currency trade involving Iraqi Dinar. For those with really hot wives I have an OnlyFans channel/system. Just really turnkey so it's just a couple easy sources of supplemental income. To help people.
