Getting into Warbird flying?

I worked for an operation in Florida giving instruction in T-6's. Most of my tailwheel previous to the T-6 had been in super cubs and that seemed to work out fine for me. I had over 1000 tailwheel when I started and there insurance wanted 500 tailwheel and 1500TT minimum.

As others have stated the T-6 is considered the prerequisite to getting in the fighters, just like in 1945. You can make a living doing the warbird thing but you better be prepared to stroke some egos and eat scraps. There are many out there who aren't half bad pilots and will do your job for free.
