Geographical locations

Just a heads-up that they sent out the e-mail today with a non-functioning website link ...but as always, time is on our side. The deadline stated for a response is May 23rd
 
I was a little disappointed when the link didn't work :banghead:, but then I remembered it's the gov't they never get it right the first time !!! Hopefully they can fix it before there own deadline.
 
So I logged in yesterday and provided my preferences. Then I logged in a few minutes ago and I saw that my preferences had been reversed (First choice was second and second choice was first). I changed them back how they should have been, submitted, and logged in again right afterward. The choices were reversed again. I made a note in the comments area to specify which state I wanted to be considered for first.

Anyone else experience this?
 
Yeah Sooner, I noticed the exact same thing with reversal of the states, so I also updated my comments to reflect my first and second choices

This happened to me too, I figured it out. It's sorting the states alphabetically, so no matter what choice you put 1st or 2nd, after you save, it'll put the state that is closer to "A" as your top choice. I confirmed this by entering another state that started after one of mine as my top choice, & it switched them as well. Tough luck to the people who really want Wyoming. :)
 
I had the same scenario where it did not work the first time. However, I checked it again today, and it worked perfectly (it seemed to keep my first and second choices in the correct order). Submitted my preferences, added my comments section to indicate my city of preference, and it was done. :rawk:
 
So I'm starting to narrow down my geographic preference choices, Florida or Colorado would be nice, or Southern Cali... but more than anything I just want to work at a facility with interesting and fun people. I have worked in several types of jobs, and to me the people you work with are what makes the job worth going to day in and day out. When I took my test in Chicago, one of the test admins was a former controller at ZAU and said that they were a good group of people, and that she really had a fun career there especially when she was younger.

Anyone have advice or knowledge on which facilites or regions are better to work in or which ones to stay away from?
 
NY and FL... Hoping for EWR, JFK, ISP, MCO, MIA or LGA (in that order lol)


Wanting to stay near Manhattan though.
