G650 Down in Roswell, NM

ghoster

Onward Thru the Fog
No details other that it was supposed test flight, aircraft still burning. Hope everyone got out but unlikely from what I am hearing.

The airport is right behind my dorm. I went to see what was going on and just saw the charred out remains of the fuselage right in front of the control tower, midway down the runway.

Our air traffic control class had a chance to tour the plane and meet the pilots and engineers last week. They said that they were going to "push the plane to its limits" this weekend as they wrapped up testing. Supposedly they were working on max brake testing at the time of the crash. My instructor is a controller at the tower here so I'll probably have more info later.

Very sad. RIP

Wow. That tells me a lot. I was thinking this was a test flight after a control surface replacement or something like that. This was likely a professional test crew then. RIP.

Holy crap, I see those Gulfstream guys every day :( I took this picture of the G6 a couple of days ago:

Is it confirmed that they're all morts?
