Says a G-IV but who knows, it does say "flight test." I would doubt both a G-IV AND G-650 crashed at the same time, in the same place, so this is probably it...
4 souls on board is odd. Most test flights are supposed to have minimal crew.
That sucks. Routine can go to hell in milliseconds.
The airport is right behind my dorm. I went to see what was going on and just saw the charred out remains of the fuselage right in front of the control tower, midway down the runway.
Our air traffic control class had a chance to tour the plane and meet the pilots and engineers last week. They said that they were going to "push the plane to its limits" this weekend as they wrapped up testing. Supposedly they were working on max brake testing at the time of the crash. My instructor is a controller at the tower here so I'll probably have more info later.
Very sad. RIP
