G1000 and bad TAS, GS readings

Cessnaflyer

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
It was a crazy day flying yesterday. One thing we couldn't figure out though was why the G1000 was giving us bad GS and TAS readings with the wind we had. Attached is the picture of what was happening.

Out of curiosity what were you flying? 148 indicated for 258 true is up there a ways, enough to think you'd be going faster.... but 258 is slow T-prop speeds.

We also got stuck in what we think was a mountain wave and we couldn't hold altitude. We descended 2000' to regain our airspeed.

Get a block altitude when that happens. Then hold your airspeed - airspeed is the only thing that matters in the hills, remember - the air can't flow through the mountains.

We were up at 330 and had a cross jet under us so it made it interesting.
