Furloughed pilot gone a little nuts?!

Who are we that love aviation so much that when you take it away we feel we have nothing else to live for?

That's really sad. I don't think anyone should get so attached to their job -- and whatever you do that is what it is -- that they feel like they can't go on if they lose it.

Losing your job can in some cases be a springboard to something better. But you have to let it be that springboard.

Any number of jobs meaning that US Air is not the only place to work as a pilot

Yeah, but US Air is headquartered down in the Phoenix area.. Deer Park and all that, no?

I imagine Doug Parker's got a few people who don't like him much.

Just speculating, ya know?

"The man making the threats said if he was confronted by police he would shoot it out."

"Hours later, police said the unidentified suspect was on a crisis hotline, threatening to take his own life, and that he appeared to be a danger only to himself."

Maybe it was death by cop... instead of having the courage to kill yourself you demonstrate enough aggression to get shot at by the police. Just a thought. Ive seen it a few times in my mental health career.

Threat sends police to Deer Valley Airport
"They received a call from a male who stated he was unemployed, he lived in his car, he was an ex-pilot and, for whatever reason, he was very, very upset," said Holmes.

As if being homeless and furloughed is not reason enough to be upset.
