FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, so far I have not been prevented by stop-loss or anything else from leaving the Navy. Today is the day. Technically I am still in the navy until August 10th but I am on leave until that day. 11 years and 17 days. Its pretty damn hard to believe that I won't be putting on the uniform next week. It's like Morgan Freeman says in Shawshank Redemption. You get used to the walls to the point you start to depend on them. Well get on with living or get on with dying!

I'm Living baby! Thanks to all who served with me in the Navy over these past 11 years, especially the guys on USS Enterprise who worked for me and for the most part kept me out of trouble.

I don't mean to sound rude, but to those who would normally post a "thanks for your service" post, how about just a simple "congratulations" instead. I have given the navy a lot of me but the navy has given me a lot as well. I leave with no regrets, no wishes I had never joined. I can only hope my kids will someday want to join the navy and share some of the experiences I did; the good, the bad; and the just plain drunk stupid idiotic! Especially the latter.

This is Shooter13 signing off of a jetcareers from a US Navy computer for the last time. Peace!

Mr. Shooter

Shooter,

You ain't gettin' no "thanks for your service" crap outta me. You just spent 11 years playing with toys I probably don't even know about due to their classified nature.

Congrats dude, good luck on the outside.

Congratulations dude.

A few sugestions.

Call your old COs office and ask to speak to Bob (or whatever his first name is).

Get a job at a fast food place, work there for a week, and quit in the middle of your shift.

Don't shave for a few days.

Have fun with your new freedom.

On a more serious note, you've just had a major life change. These can really mess up your relationships with others. So don't be suprised if you have a lot of adjusting to do. I rember hearing the average life exptency for someone who spends 30 years in the military is 24 months after their EAS.

Congrats bro! Good luck with the transition and your future!

Congrats, and welcome to the club. You are now free to disappear from your life as you knew it, never to return again. You will miss the ports of call, the good times and the bad, but none will compare to the view you'll get sitting in your new office at FL 350. Again congrats!

Congratulations and thank you for your service! BTW silverhawk, thanks for the new wallpaper

Thanks guys! Now it is off to the new job today!

Nice picture silverhawk. My office was right next to the sponson behind the #1 elevator. I soent alot of time reading and watching the ocean from that spot. I called it my patio. Where did you get the pic? I am pretty sure I was onboard when that one was taken.

Congrats Shooter,
Now's the time to become a democrat and use the govt money that's OWED to you for your flight training.
Good Luck!
