Lorenzo. Read a book.

Hell, let's not forget Frontier too.A lot of people don't realize this, or think it's a myth, but it's absolutely true. An administrative law judge flat out banned Lorenzo and some of his compatriots from having any involvement in positions that involved airline operations, largely because of the safety concerns of allowing people so obsessed with cutting costs and screwing labor over having anything to do with flight operations or technical operations.
One of our former senior executives, Steve Kolski, was one of them. He was one of Lorenzo's attorneys during the Eastern days. When Lorenzo tried to start up another airline called ATX in the '90s, he put Kolski in charge of it, thinking that having his name on it instead of his own would get it through the DOT. Didn't work. The ALJ refused to approve their application, citing all of the compliance problems at Eastern that both of them oversaw.
I know all about Lorenzo. I guess I just don't understand why that matters regarding the merger. He's scum with an opinion.
I think I get what your selling minus the star wars reference, I can't stay awake long enough to get the full story of those movies... and when his opinions are being taken down as gospel on the way to do business by parties actually involved in said business, that's bad. It's like saying, hey, it's okay The Emperor is backing this Vader guy. Vader seems cool, right? He totally doing his own thing, right?

I saw some scenes with Natalie Portman. Does she have daddy issues?Star Wars? Largely characters with daddy issues, anger management issues, control issues and incest. Pretty much the target demographic for the "Lifetime Network" minus the incest.

Im working on photoshop, making a picture of ATN and Lorenzo shaking hands and smiling on the ATL ramp in front of an airliner.
That SOB used Eastern to funnel planes to Continental at pennies on the dollar while leaving both carriers to flounder in the wake of his utter mayhem and destructive self-serving values
That's exactly right. He did this during the so called cooling off period while he was busy also selling off their South American routes and other assets. He was a master of the old shell game. Rat B. Can't type it here but you can guess.Let's not forget System One, either. That software package was worth many millions, and he stole it from EAL to transfer to CAL for virtually nothing, then leased it back to EAL at a huge markup.

Remember, media outlets will give pretty much anybody a microphone and a soap box (hell, they gave you one through the 3407 Families) if they think it will drive up ratings.
All things being equal.Let us not forget how we got the 1,500 hr rule that will help to drive up wages.

I don't think it does. No one, and I mean no employee deserves to be screwed around, used, thrown to the street like so much garbage, lied to, played, lose their careers, see their pay reduced, their benefits dissappear and their 401's vanish, their livelihood and sometimes their life because of scum bag owners/operator/CEOs of any company. Especially when you spent many years, a lot of hard earned money, time, made many personal sacrifices, were loyal and were dedicated to that company. People back in the day didn't choose to work for some crap ass outfit. They went to work for what were once regarded as leaders and innovators in that industry, companies that were respected and well run, places were you had a future and employees were once proud to be associated with them and in return they were treated well. It wasn't that the employees were not smart either. That's the difference.
