My dad is a Capt at Atlas, he's been with the company since 1994 or so. He is gone for about 14-18 days per month depending. His schedule always changes sometimes daily, and that is what he hates about the company. For him not having a firm schedule reduces his QOL. I will tell you since he has started flying for Atlas he has missed birthdays, holidays, and lots of family events. He loves flying the 747 but the being away from home is getting old for him. He would tell you his QOL sucks, but he is old and grumpy. What are the schedules like at Atlas? QOL?

Some guys will say you don't need any TPIC, just move on.
Others will say 1,000.
Some, 2,000.
I say move on to what you can when you can. If things hit the fan and you can't get a job with 747 international time, kids flying RJ's for 2,000 hours in the left seat probably won't be getting jobs either.
But that's just my take on things.
I want my next move to be my last. So any desicion i make will be for life.
