Flying Upside Down

I just flew my first competition in the sportsman category. Finished 8th out of 13 pilots in that division (ahead of an Extra, two decathlons, and two GameBirds), not bad for a 118hp citabria. I was happy with my scores and met my goal of three clean runs through the more challenging sequences. Had a lot of fun and met some really great pilots.

I also got to take home hardware for my flying last year.

It's been a fun week at IAC Nationals getting to fly with some VERY good pilots. I'm hopelessly outclassed in airplane and the judges are tough here, but I'm flying good.

Nope. I did 4 days in Arizona throwing up in an Extra 300. Never again.

First contest in my new airplane. No time to practice made me drop back down a division. I just wanted to get through a contest in one piece, but things turned out better than I expected.
