Flying in sandals.. Opinion?

It's only when you park somewhere and don't fill up it can become an issue. And IIRC, fuel cam come out the fuel vents, or something...I haven't flown a 172 in a few years.

It will drain out also with full tanks if left on closed position, the closed position connects the two wing tanks, and shut off the line to the engine, in the models with integral tanks and overhead connection to even out pressure, fuel will be lost out of the vents even if the plane it`s just slightly leaning on one side. It was a huge and dangerous issue in the 206 H model with the G1000, as often fuel quantity from the fuel flow system and the fuel tank metering system would not match, the only way to fix it would be to fill the tanks again to capacity, which wasn't always possible in my operation.

I guess I never had that problem because I always flew full tanks. Had no idea it was an issue.
This place wanted the tanks not topped off usually unless they came in less than half. That way people who needed to fly more weight could put the fuel in as needed. As for the other part, makes sense. I'm just following the checklist.

They put it on a flatbed? Have the FBO drive the truck to the airplane put some fuel in it. Or at the very least go fill up some gas cans, block 2000ft of road and go.

I'd assume those slings did a lot of damage to the air frame too.

My friend put a plane down on the road empty of fuel (also in Florida). The cops called the FAA for guidance and the FAA recommended the cops take his drivers license AKA his government issued photo ID. The cops kept it overnight to prevent him from departing from the roadway.

Go get your passport lol.

And landing on a road without incident isn't even reportable to the FAA. I mean I do it on purpose quite a bit.
