flight express??

Good answer. I haven't worked there for a while, but at least when I did, while there wasn't very much equipment, what there was worked and if it didn't it got fixed. Good job, two thumbs up.

what kind of avionics do you guys fly with?

Dual navs and comms. A select few have Radar or a VFR GPS. A fair amount have a Loran.

hee. Radios. VORs. Some have two glideslopes. Do you want model numbers or are you hoping to hear "G150,000,000"?
PS. Think they stopped taking VFR guys sometime in 2008.

:rotfl:

Rumors on the grape vine say they might have another class. Any intel on that? Sounds kinda fun to me.

I'm not in the loop by any means but by doing the math on our attrition rate I'd say thats a good possibility.

Hello, I am new to the industry, and am seriously considering the Pt. 135 route. Please excuse my naivete but that is why I am asking questions. Flight Express is a company I'm looking at as I am rapidly approaching 135 mins (1100tt everything else met). I would like the idea of being based in FL though I do understand it is a bid system. From some of the other threads I see that there are mixed feelings about Flight Express. It seems that a lot are due to FE taking routes of another carrier. For those that are in the know, or currently work there, what is it like? Is it livable on the wage? Can I expect to make the minimum that is posted on the website, middle range or upper range? Any kind of information would be much appreciated and thanks for your time and please feel free to PM me if you don't want to post on the thread.

I left in 2007. When I left, you were far more likely to be on a run that paid towards the top of the scale than towards the bottom. In addition, the low paying, low time runs were sometimes sought after by part timers. If you want to make a decent paycheck, you probably will. You will work your butt off for it, most likely, but it will be available to you. Again, all 2 years + out of date.

All still correct. Odds are if you want a long run there will be one there for you. That all depends on if you perhaps take a base preference over run preference however.

We have 1 pilot going to atc, we have a few that haven't passed checkrides, and some others for various reasons.

I applied today, tried to fax a resume, but the fax machine wouldn't answer.

We'll see if I hear anything, if nothing else it will keep unemployment happy...

Any truth to the rumot that Flight Express will hire slightly below 135 IFR mins? I'm about 30 hrs short on total time.

Anyone know why they didn't pick up any of the Airnet guys who were laid off rather than hire new folks? Are they operating separately?

The companies are being run separately. When Bayside acquired FLX, Bayside assigned some runs Airnet was doing to the slightly less expensive to operate 210. Then FLX hired off the street when Airnet furloughed.
At the time, it didn't make sense to fly a 210 for less pay when the furloughs were forecast out only a few months, and a lot of guys didn't bother to interview at FLX. Now, well...If I had an aviation crystal ball I'd make millions.

If you wanted you could find 8 flight hours a day 5 days a week but it does get old real quick.

Seriously?? Im sure that it would get old after a while, but even someone new in the company could get that relatively quickly after training? Thanks.

Mike

Where are ya'll pilots going or why are ya'll loosing people?

I left FLX a few months ago when I got called back to my airline. At least a couple others have done the same. When I left most of the Tampa runs were minimum pay with 2-3 flight hours per day. Flying time varies by which base you are at.
