Flight Design CTSW 2006??

Anyone have any experience with the Flight Design CTSW 2006 model? Just curious how it flies, cruises, and things to watch for, etc. Going to do some training in one for a customer. Thanks for the help.

They fly real nice. Cruise is about the same as a 172, fuel burn way less, can use MoGas, and generally is easy to fly. The one I've flown even had an autopilot with altitude hold, which made cross country flights even easier One thing to be careful about is the sight picture on landing. Between the slope of the windscreen and the low panel height, it has a vastly significant picture on landing, leading people to not really flare. When you don't flare, the nose gear likes to sheer off. Other than than, watch your energy on final. If you use full flaps, the approach angle is really, really steep. Honestly, there was no reason for me to use beyond 15 degree's of flaps, unless the field was crazy, crazy short. With big flaps and drooping ailerons, there is lots of drag, so keep that in mind.

Great information. The one I will fly has AP with ALT hold and a Garmin 496 as well. Will be doing some cross country so should be a good deal. Looks like a fun little airplane. Thanks again for the info...

Really there isn't anything that isn't in the POH. If you don't have one, search around on the internet, and you'll find one, as S-LSA's have a very basic, yet easy to use POH. There are plenty of big airplane options on the CTSW, such as trim controls on all 3 axis'. Have fun with it, they're a blast to fly.
