Please cancel your IFR after landing at airports with closed towers (Like Asheville, NC last night) so that the folks behind you can get in. Now, I really don't mind holding over the mountains for 35 minutes while we coordinate with our ops guy to find one of your ops guys (that already went home because you guys were done) - in fact, I was getting paid, and it was nice practice to do it old-school style with just an RMI and DME! And, the local Law Enforcement (*edit*) probably needed to go earn their pay anyway. But, I don't think that the passengers enjoyed the additional delay, since we were already 5 hours late leaving Cincinnati.
Now, it's hard stuff, I know, and in your 300 hours of total time before you got hired, you didn't have to deal with this stuff. But, please . . . for the sake of paying passengers, local sheriff's departments, operations guys, Atlanta Center controllers, and crew scheduling departments across the country, CANCEL YOUR IFR FLIGHT PLAN!
