First Flight...

Well, on my way I got lost due to the new SGF terminal. So I was like 15 minutes late. I also went the wrong way on like 5 roads; it's very poorly thought out. Then my shifter knob broke, so I couldn't get my car out of Drive or into Park or Reverse.
I'm in no way excusing the CFI's rudeness but my guess would be, he was probably mad waiting around for 15 minutes and probably cut the flight a little short to not delay his next student, thats if he had another student.

Either way, he should've let you had more time on the controls as well as sit left seat.

Oh well, seems like you got a good plan for checking out other options. Just remember, take your time and save every little penny you can. ;)

Maybe it's the angle, but that nose strut looks low!

Never tell that to a mechanic, he will jack that thing so high, it will make it feel like you're smuggling people in the trunk.

Plus you should invest in some Oakley transitions pair. I love these too death.:)

Actually, he had a flight right before mine, and I showed up right before him. He was running late on that flight as well.

Those are sick!

I'll continue the trend here of being confused as towards why you sat right seat.

On my discovery flight it was left seat, we went very slow through the pre-flight, I did everything with him on the checklist, he explained everything, he told me what was going on, on the radios, I taxied, I ghosted him on the take off, around pattern alt I took the controls and continued to fly all the way down to the base leg.

I would suggest never going back there, if thats how they treat a discovery flight, then just imagine how they're going to treat their lessons.

My first flight was with the young eagle program in Tennesse and the guy stuck me in the right seat and let me do everything except land. Then I did a couple of discovery flights here in Spokane and told the instructor about my first flight and they let me fly from the left seat. Wierd, but I guess you have to tell them you fly a lot :)

:yeahthat: Same here on mine. The only thing I didnt do was the first landing only because there was a breif crosswind gust, everything else was all me. Ide be a little upset if I paid for a disco flight and didnt fly. I too brought a long a camera but was only able to snap off a few photos because I was busy flying my first airplane. ;)

Way back when when I was an instructor I made all of my students fly the whole time during their first flight. Two reasons, first was because it was a confidence builder for the student and second, it let me gauge what kind of student they would be.

Cool pics!

My first flight, i flew takeoff and all the way down to 200' final. Literally, he only grabbed the controls at the last 200'.

I'd find another school too if that's how they treated the first (but most important IMO) flight. It's the make or break if they're going to be interested in flying, and/or gauged in their flight school.

You. Are. So. Lucky.
I'm looking in 3DW in downtown Springfield.

If you start to do your flying soon, a great cross country for you would be to go to Grand lake rgnl airport. They have a resort right next door, they'll come pick you up and go get some food. Or go to I think it's was Drake airport, where you can rent a Jaguar and take it out for a cruise.
