First flight on WN

Hey just a general question regarding WN and cockpit visits. My step kids and their mom are flying WN tomorrow and it's their first airplane ride ever. I was wondering how WN is about letting kids up front after the flight? They are both very nervous about the flight and I think it would make their first flight memorable if they could visit the front office after they landed. I already told their mom to ask the FAs if it would be ok after they landed. The youngest and I will be flying back on DL so I won't be there to ask.

Ask the flight attendant as you board.

They will, in turn, will ask the front end crew. 99% of the time a visit is welcomed.

You will have to let us know how it all goes. I bet they will have so much fun. So great to see others on the forum working their magic! :D

Definitely will do! Our youngest has flown since he was about 6 months old and he still talks about the time when he was 4 and got to visit the cockpit of a Cactus 320. Now he's hooked on aviation. The other two kids have been out spotting with me recently and are excited but scared for their first trip! It's stuff like this that makes JC awesome!

I would say do it before the flight. If the crew is ending the trip, or headed to the hotel, that's all they'll have on their mind, and may forget. I love it when kids want to visit. I'll go as far as asking the captain if our visitor can start the APU. I've had a few kids who seem pretty well versed to in what does what. I even had one say "what, no auto throttles!?!"

WN sucks.

Ask the DL crew- they will be all over it. ;)

Some kids are super timid and just want to take a look. I've had a few send for the PDC and ATIS and printed off copies for them to take. Same with starting the APU among other things. My childhood was filled with awesome visits to the cockpit... gotta pass the buck!

Bring sandwiches or muffins. We don't get fed and are often hungry. [emoji23]

Totally agree with visiting before the flight. After the flight, depending on the turn time one guy is prepping the cockpit while the other goes to hunt down food and use an adult sized bathroom then they will tag out and the other guy will go. (One pilot required to remain aboard whenever pax are on the airplane) It's a well choreographed carnival act but usually things settle down about halfway through boarding the outbound flight. I'd much rather a visitor before departure then plugging up the door when I wanna get out. [emoji1]
