I realize this isn't about aviation but I believe I need some advice.
Until recently I rented a room under a non-contracted arrangement. When I lost my job, I gave the owners notice that I was leaving and one of them said he had wanted two months notice, a point we had never talked about and more importantly, he had never gotten an agreement, written or verbal from me since he knew I was only there temporarily.
When I left, my former employer still owed me money and I didn't have the resources to wait. They sent my back pay to the address I had formerly stayed at before I could update them on where I would be. The owners now refuse to send me my pay.
What can I say to them to get them to surrender my pay or should I go straight to a relative who is a lawyer?
