Holy crap. Why didn't someone tell me this was not the Simpsons. Half way through letting my son watch it I realized it was NOT a kids show. Nothing like my son telling my wife on the phone that we are watching it. I think a little of my butt is left.
 
Wait...what?! Blackhawk, how can you have not known that Family Guy is not kid "friendly"...you do know we landed on the moon right?

(just givin ya a little hell mang, buy chocolate and tell her it's not like you let him play with a gun or drink beer)

It's a funny show, but not for kids :)

I let my kids watch Ren & Stimpy though, so I admit I may not be the BEST judge of "appropriateness"...
 
Who didn't watch Ren and Stimpy? Great show! Although it was very dark and maybe a little much for some kids...I loved it.

I just assumed it was like the Simpsons- more of an adult cartoon but okay for kids.
Hey, a little gun play weeds out the dumb ones and beer helps deaden the pain after the braces have been tightened.

Oh I watched far, FAR worse things when I was a child, but knew that "TV World" and reality were two distinctly different things.

We had satellite before they started scrambling the signal and let's just say that it was as wild west as the internet.
 
I remember watching the first Ren & Stimpy season with the neighbor kids who I babysat! Those kids are in their 20s now...

Yes, I am old.

I don't let them watch Beavis & Butthead. Yet. I'm thinking middle school age I'll introduce Beavis & Butthead, I'm sure they'll appreciate it :D (I was in college when Beavis & Butthead aired on MTV.)
 
I love me some family guy...but know better to change the channel when wifey walks in the room.
 
It's not that she wouldn't let me or anything like that...but let's just say a happy wife = happy life.
