I failed my commercial single ride on diversions.Im very discouraged and almost about to throw in the towel. I don't want busted rides on my record,Now im nervous about going back to take it again because we didnt even get the manuevars done.So if I mess up on all the other stuff that would be number two.on top of having to re-train.any advise???

Pick yourself up, figure out what you messed up, fix it, and go pass the ride. You'll be fine.

Don't dwell on the "what if's" and don't be a freaking quitter. Unless that's what you want to be known as in life.

I take it this was an initial Comm ride?

Yea,It was I hadnt done diversions since my private.and we didnt go over it in my training.bounced around during training. And nerves got the best of me.

Manfred von Richtofen crashed on his first solo flight. You have already established a record superior to his and he turned out to be a rather accomplished aviator.

Of course, do everything you can to have a successful outcome during your next attempt, but just dust yourself off and go get it.

Suck it up, re-train and pass the checkride. There was a reason you were signed off. If you are afraid of failing, then you don't want whatever it is that you're pursuing bad enough.

Lik everyone else said, get it done! Some of the best pilots I know have busted checkrides on their records and some of the worst I know have never failed a checkride.

I bust my commercial single ride and currently fly commercially.
I learned a lot from the bust.

Dust off and get at it pronto.

out of curiosity... can u go into detail about what went wrong during your diversion? Study, chair fly, get the re-training endorsement and move on.

If you're really worried about all the maneuvers then take the multi commercial ride instead, you get to skip chandelles, eights on pylon, lazy eights, etc.

He told me to divert to an airport.and I started turning toward it.for some odd reason I pciked the wrong airport and I knew it had to be wrong.and from there on I just got nervouse and confussed.and It was rather an easy airport to ge to.Now Im just wondering when I go back up"when I get enough money too,is he gonna give me some really hard diversion or the same one.

You screwed up. Unscrew yourself. Cease screwing up. Turn towards the correct airport next time. Confirm it's the right one. Navigate to it and don't get nervous and confused.

What's a "really hard diversion" anyway? An airport is an airport. Be flexible. Do the above I mentioned. Don't dwell on things in the cockpit. And you'll be fine.

Everyone has basically said what needs to be done! I know it is normal to be nervous but Im sure that failure just made you that much better as a pilot. I failed my private oral and I have never failed any ride after that. Now I am very big on being ready for anything. Trust me you most likely wont have that problem ever again... Good luck on your next Ride.

What did the examiner say when he debriefed you? You did get a thourough debriefing, didn't you? If you didn't, call the examiner and ask exactly what you did wrong, and exactly what the right way to do it is. You're owed that much. Unless the examiner is a complete jerk, you should get an easily understandable explanation. If the examiner is a complete jerk, don't go back- use somebody else for the re-test.

what you bust on?

Steep spiral. Rolled into the maneuver with a headwind at 60 degrees of bank and after turning 180 degrees I had tailwind with no more bank to put in. Then obviously the circle moved with the wind by quarter mile from my point.
Then, "OMG!!! I just bust my first ride!", and was too distracted by the fact that I just bust to do the very last maneuver (eights-on-pylons).
Worst eight-on I'd ever done.
He was going to let the quarter mile slide but tack on the crappy eights-on it was a legit bust.
Lesson: It ain't over till it's over. And that is a good outlook and attitude to have, especially in aviation. With the type of flying I've done since then, that attitude has had to kick in multiple times and I am more than happy with the cost (a bust), for the experience.

If only there were just some way to skip the entire checkride and get hired on at a Regional to fly a JET!

One more:

You can get your ATP in Canada and then convert it to a US ATP certificate.

That's badass Krieger haha. bet you freaked those people out. So when i go for my commercial single ( i already have my multi) what am i going to have to do? all the manooves?
