I live in wine country, CA.. they've been trying to get broadband in here for 5 years now and the line is still about 10 miles away..

not affordable to install from the providers standpoint.

You know. They do make something in the likes of this doohickey called satellite. But, nevermind that. Once you get to HI, you can get all the cable and big screen tv's you want. haha

I dunno, I have a buddy with HughesNet, he gets maybe 15kb/s (compared to a dial-up average of 5kb/s) and pays an obscene amount.

I was actually going to be a nature show host before applying to the FAA, until I heard about the lack of high-speed.

and lets not forget.. wilblue IS DirecTV - which is an evil company. I know their policies inside and out.. horrible.. horrible things..

you guys don't know what you're getting into if you go sat.

I'd rather dl porn at 1.5kb/s and enjoy what little I can get than pay out the arse ($50+ a month up here) for a service that is limited to 13-17GB/month.

it's in the fine print.

Bzzzt... wrong. WildBlue is Dish Network, DirecWay is DirecTV.

They are, however, both evil companies.
