Did anyone else get an email from the Air Traffic Organization in DC asking for you to tell them where you are in the hiring process?
I received the same e-mail; along with the 800 other recipients. I can view all of the recipients e-mail addresses.
That really bothered me. This is the reply I sent:
"Dear Ms. Navarrete:
Thank you very much for respecting my privacy by sharing my e-mail address (which incidentally contains my first and last name) with tens of other applicants. It comes to no surprise that the FAA is unable to keep track of each candidate's hiring status when its employees are unable to figure out how to properly use something as simple as the Bcc: feature on their mail client.
For what it's worth, here's where I stand:
(I typed a date next to each of the 10 steps I completed)"
Affirmative. Here is the e-mail-I mean no sarcasm with this question... I was curious about this before Beehives reply above, which spurred me to go ahead and ask:
Isn't the question that the FAA is asking pretty much exactly the same thing that nearly everyone on these forums has been trying (in many cases for months on end and in nearly every case with precious little success) to find out from the the outfit that was contracted to run the hiring process... by the FAA?
I am with the Air Traffic Organization, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in Washington, D.C. As you know we are currently pursuing candidates who have applied for consideration as air traffic controllers. Out information indicates that you have been in process for placement into that occupation. Because there are several different lines of business in the FAA that must gather information on you and make a determination as to your suitability for a final job offer, we are concerned that we may not be up to date on where you are in the processing. These are the steps in processing:
1. Interviewed by an Air Traffic interviewer.
2. Received a tentative offer letter.
3. Fingerprinted.
4. Input of information into the electronic security questionnaire, E-QIP.
5. Medical physical.
6. Psychological factors examination.
7. Drug Tested.
8. Received a final offer letter.
9. Have a reporting date to the FAA Academy.
10. Have already reported to the FAA Academy .
(date)
Please identify all the steps you have completed from the listing above. If you have informed an FAA contact that you do not wish to be considered for placement, please provide that information as well.
Our goal is to process and bring individuals on board as quickly as possible with consideration for any special circumstances that you might have. Please respond to this e-mail at the above address no later than April 28, 2008. Absent your response, we will consider you to no longer to be interested in becoming an air traffic controller.

Spoke with OKC yesterday, and it looks like the hiring contractors/FAA HQ/ and OKC have their hiring numbers jacked up....![]()
ABC wrote that he/she had completed each of the ten steps, so he/she is in OKC.Ouch - that's a quick way to get your application eliminated. Sarcasm is not appreciated by anyone, I assure you. You insulted both her and her employer - what makes you think in any way that they'd want to hire you now? I don't care what college you graduated from or what your qualifications are, if you sent that email to me and I was a hiring manager, I sure as hell wouldn't hire you.
The FAA may have its problems, but you're still the one seeking employment from them. Don't forget that.

In that case, SoonerATC is right. You should have replied with what was only necessary. You've been to a PEPC so i'm sure you'll still get hired but if you passed the med, psych, sec and drug test and don't get a OKC date I guess you'll know why.:whatever:By the way, Beehive, I am not in OKC and I don't even have a firm offer yet. I only attended the PEPC.
Well said MrFent!Nice of them to make us wait up to a year or more for them to get their act together in this hiring process, while they give us just one week to get ours.
