FAA Announcement AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT1-08232

Hey man...the next step is to wait some more. In the past, I've seen some get selected in as little as 1wk after a referral while others it took 4wks. However, now they are referring everyone at the same time (pubnat1), where as before with the 2007 state announcements you only got referred a couple of weeks before your state was meeting for selection.

You will be notified via e-mail or phone and not through ASAP once you have been selected. If you don't get selected when your state met, you won't be notified. General timeline from referral to when most selections are made is 2-4wks (in the past).

I don't know when or which states are meeting for this announcement. Anyone have a clue yet?

Hey I wonder if anyone knows how many people got referred for this announcement? Are there any re-hires that got referred for this announcement that anyone knows of.

Each announcement has its own referral list, so if the re-hires applied for this OTS, they probably were referred.

So I am getting some conflicting information... I have heard from here on out, nothing gets updated on ASAP and we just have to wait for a phone call. But I also thought ASAP posted if you were referred to a location, and at THAT point it's time to wait for the call... once you've been recommended for a facility. Can anyone confirm?

Also, if they do post you were referred somewhere on ASAP, do they just tell you the state, or do they give you the city, or the actual facility or what?

I'm ready to be done waiting. Which is funny because I'm normally such a patient person. :) drumming my fingers...

Because we did not use ASAP to do our geographic preferences it will not show the state we were referred to. Have to wait for the email or phone call.

Just a small FYI...When I e-mailed an HR person on Wednesday about when we would find out if we got selected from this nationwide selection, I was told..."we will begin to make notifications as soon as we make sure everything audits and get it reconciled."

I was kinda hoping for an estimated time frame. Just wonder if it will take them a lot longer to notify everyone since this was what appears to be their first nationwide selection.

Does anyone know for sure whether they will contact us by e-mail or by phone? The work number I have listed changed when I switched desks [like three MONTHS ago] and the tech guys here are being really slow about switching it back...is there any way I can update my info so that I can be sure I don't miss it if/when they do try to contact me?

You can change your personal information in ASAP and it will update all applications you have in there. However, I don't know how that will work out if they already pulled your information for selection.

Apparently if you change your contact information in ASAP, it does not update information previously provided on a submitted application. I was told they should check ASAP for your current info, but they normally don't. They will only take the information provided for that particular application. I was notified by email after the last panels met in May and I think email is the preferred method of communication. Certainly if they can't contact you by phone they will email you. I wouldn't worry about it, but I was in the same predicament earlier. I was receiving mailed AT-SAT invitations and not even receiving them until the day or so after the deadline.

I called the aviation careers division the other day with a similar question. My email on my feb ots is no longer in service. The gal I talked to said that as long as you maintain current information in the ASAP you should be okay. She said they use the info that is current in the ASAP page for user info. the stuff on the applications will not change when you change your contact info. Hope this helps.

Got this from a board on ATCCTI.com, referring to the amount of time between the panel meeting and offers being sent out-

"Talked to OK on Friday. I was told around 60 days. We will see. Again, the last 2 meetings I had emails in one week and the other in 2.....lets hope no later than a month. this waiting sucks."

Anyone else hear anything like this? 60 days is new to me.

ya just never know how long it will take with the good ole' US gov. Then one day when we least expect it... We will get the offer. And when we get that offer we will just be starting some other REALLY good job. When it rains it pours. but for now....... it's a drought. Try to not let it drive you too crazy!:nana2:

Are you saying 60 days from the panels to a TOL? In that case, 60 days is not unreasonable. A PEPC invitation itself is not an offer so perhaps the 60 days is an estimate including the time to schedule PEPCs, complete the interviews, and all the other stuff before a TOL or FOL is offered. I would hope it's not 60 days just to find out whether or not you have been selected for further consideration.

This was from another forum, but from what I understand by reading the quote, they meant from when selection panel meets to when PEPC invitations are sent out.

I have a seemingly wierd question. I am in the same boat as everyone else, I suppose. I applied for the Feb job. I was a rated controller (Radar)in the USAF. I did the AT-SAT in March (96%), then I got an e-mail inviting me to PEPC's either in Chicago or LA. I couldn't go to either one (financial reasons)...I live in FL. Then I got a call to interview with an Air Traffic Manager here in Orlando. She told me that now I'd have to wait until I get my medical/psychological stuff set up. Questions are (if anyone can help)...am I going through a slightly different process b/c of the VRA? I wasn't on the referral list that came out earlier this month. Is that a big deal?

The manager said she would have hired me right into the facility if she could, but since ALL military controllers now have to go to OKC, she can't. I am patient and waiting. I was just wondering.

I'll be OK either way, I am a flight instructor now, so either way, I am in the industry I love. Thanks for the help.

I called OKC before last weeks meetings and was told 1-2 weeks, then an FAA rep (visiting our CTI school) told us thursday to expect 2-3 weeks/beginning of July, so who knows... it might end up being 60 days...
