FAA Announcement AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT1-08232

Well...I kinda got some info yesterday. At about 10am I got an e-mail telling me that the state (IN) I selected in my geographic preference did not have an en route center. (which is obviously false) Then at about 11am I got another email telling me to ignore the previous e-mail.
If nothing else it at least shows that they are looking at our geographic preferences now, im assuming to make the referral lists. By the way I'm an OTS Feb. '08 applicant and figured I'd share.

Or they're having more problems. I just checked my prefs... the dropdown lists with all the states are empty. All my other info is still the same tho.

Whoa...just logged into ASAP and my preferences were blank as well. When I checked the "Terminal only" option just now, the drop down box only listed states that have ARTCCs. When I checked the "En Route Only" and "En Route and Terminal" options it listed ALL states. (yes - you read that correctly).

I THINK what has happened is that folks were selecting states that did not contain the facility option they were selecting (in essence contradicting themselves to the FAA), so Av Careers tried to re-program the database so that when you select a specific option, it only provides states that contain that option. Except - they reversed the drop down boxes. Instead of only listing states that have ARTCCs when you select the "En Route Only" option, it does this when you select "Terminal Only" and lists ALL states for the "En Route Only" option.

I want OK and KS terminal only, but when I select the "Terminal Only" option, it doesn't give me OK as an option (because it lists only ARTCC states). ::sigh::

Same thing happened to me. I would suspect it will be fixed by Monday as I'm guessing they will be flooded with calls and e-mails about the problem.

You guys referring to the online form or ASAP? I dont see anything on ASAP that shows what I entered into that form. Where on ASAP is it supposed to be. Thanks guys

It is the website that was emailed to us to select our geographic preferences.
 
Mine was also blank. I just chose "both" knowing that there aren't any enroute facilities in my geographic preferences.
 
Hey, can someone please post their link to the ASAP login page? My bookmarked page doesn't work anymore, and I'm having a hard time finding it. Thank you!
 
Weird- that's what I had, and even that link from your post doesn't work for me- from my home OR my work computer.

Does anyone know the workaround to find it from the FAA homepage?
 
it's not working for me, either. I googled "FAA ASAP" and i got the link https://jobs.faa.gov/asap/

On Saturday, there was a message saying it would be down starting Sunday night. I don't remember when it was supposed to come back though.
 
I just checked the geographic preferences website and it appears the problem has been fixed. The terminal only option has all the states listed and the enroute option has only those states with enroute facilities listed. So, anyone who had the same problem may want to check the site.
 
I recommend everyone logging back in to make sure your choices are still in there. I logged in and both of my choices were removed. Although my comment and Terminal only option were still there.
