I dont know if this has been posted yet but ExpressJet is recalling pilots. A guy at my airport who was very junior just got his recall letter in the mail and is going back in a month. Hopefully this meaning some hiring in the near future.

Good news... Perhaps some of the fellow Xjet members can comment, but I have not heard anything about any possibility of hiring. I think there will still be well over 100 plus on the street????

Well if it helps any as far as senority numbers being recalled he was furloughed last oct of 2008 if I remember right.

I just got a text from a buddy... He's VERY junior. Still has over 150 ahead of him.... So it all is about Date of Hire, not furlough date.

175 letters have or will be sent to fill 112 recall spots so far (based on the bypass rate). A total of 347 were furloughed. No details or even strong rumors about how many more will happen this year.

I'm posting from my phone and those numbers are from memory...I reserve the right to edit my post later :)

What Clocks said. Still a long way to go, but it's a great start. Considering the staffing problems XJT has been having even in February, I think there's a strong possibility of everyone getting a letter by the end of the year. Just my opinion, though.

This recall goes halfway through my class (U36XX, 2 July 2007 class), but not quite to me. I'm expecting further recalls announced in a month, and then I figure I'll have a letter another month after that.

That's just a personal guess, though. I'm within about 15 of getting a letter right now.

I'm assuming you're not going back correct?

The numbers posted here are close to accurate. They only need 112, and should send out about 150-160 letters total. The letter states that you MAY be called for a class, so it's not a guaranteed thing that you will have a class if you receive a letter. So if more than 112 accept, the extras will probably be told that the classes have been filled thus no class for them this time around.

There should be still about another 200 who won't receive letters this time around. The worst thing of it is that they have to go all the way down the list if you bypass. So if you bypass, and someone junior to you gets called back later on, you still can't go back until they get to the end of the list. Kinda stinks, but it's better than nothing!
