ExpressJet Hiring Dispatchers

Unknown start date right now. But word is 5 people for the next class. Mostly to replace "potential" dispatchers that will be moving to Sector Manager (CRJ), Hub Coordinator (ERJ) and Senior Hub Coordinator (ERJ) positions. As for why it closed a few days ago and then reposted on Friday. I have no idea. Wouldn't be the first time a carrier did that. Delta forgot to put their work experience requirements on their last opening. So after a day of taking apps. They closed it, rejected all apps, fixed the requirements and reposted. So maybe XJT HR forgot something in the text portion.

That application process has to be among the longest of anyone's. Am I crazy for feeling like I should get hired just for having a license and completing it 3 times?

Dude I agree 100%! That application took waay too long, and ya 3rd time around for me too. Never have EVER heard ANYTHING!

In all honesty the application process, from my experience, wasnt bad at all. Im still getting rejection emails from jobs I applied to back in October and November.

1. They plan to move 7 total ERJ dispatchers over to Coordinator positions. The current in coming class will replace those dispatchers.
2. The new class they hire will replace and help over staff the dispatch group. The new VP of the OCC wants to be in a position to be able to cover for additional departures that are not yet known, but could happen at anytime. They seem to be changing the philosophy regarding playing catch up.. Now they hope to stay ahead of departures by already having a few extra dispatchers trained and on the floor.

Dont know the total for next class but expect 5-8 additional. Also with World Airways shutting down expect to see a few of those guys/girls throwing their hat in the ring.

I don't think there will be a large group of people from World coming over to the regional side. They would probably wait for the majors to hire or move to another cargo compt. Just my opinion though.

any updates on in this post? no one is talking or is all the applicants just crossing there fingers at this point?

Be careful using that as a way to get into dispatch. I believe there's currently a 12-18 month wait time before you can apply internally elsewhere in the company.
