ExpressJet Hiring Dispatchers

And some may even fall in love with 135.

I'm not sure I could think of a slower, more painful method of suicide. I've come to feel about 135 Ops the way that one guy feels about Florida. To be fair, maybe it's not 135 Ops as a whole but just the customer-driven mentality that my carrier has about our charters but it's an unrequited love, at best. Managing Flight Operations where the air carriers can essentially do as they please in all sectors of your operation (and usually get away with it) gets old fast.

Anyone know if ExpressJet allows tours of their facility?

If you know someone there who can escort you, yes (done it before). If not, I'm not sure.

I gave someone on this forum a suggestion and it apparently worked for a tour.

Call 404-856-1000. That's the main switchboard person. Ask to speak to David Rouse - GM OCC. And then you can setup a visit with him and you can probably throw in if you could be sat with a dispatcher.

Good luck.

I can't imagine I would be one of those people to fall in love with it, but I know some who have... Definitely takes a special person, IMO.

Does anyone know if an applicant fresh out of dispatch school has a chance at the ExpressJet job? This position has been the one I have been waiting on since I already live and work in ATL.
Any news from them for you? I've heard nothing. I am assuming I won't hear anything at this point. Very disappointed.

Nothing for me either. Was hoping to at least have a chance to show what I know and what I can contribute.

From what I have heard they are done with interviews. I will just continue to apply and keep being persistent.

I agree. I am applying to just about everything I come across. It's very difficult to stay positive and not get discouraged but I am trying. I don't understand why they wouldn't at least interview local, licensed people. Such a disappointment.

Keep pounding them out, guys. Something will happen.
Amen....when I had my certificate, it took me over a year to land my first gig, and this was after many interviews and almost giving up and trying some other line of work. I eventually did. Years later, I landed a new gig on only my second interview after searching. Never give up. Its much easier to prove yourself on the job than in an interview, and interviews don't always paint the best picture.

I still havent heard back about my interview...and from what it sounds like I was the only one in this thread from Atlanta that got one? I am not sure if anyone from my adx class got an interview or not.

I can't believe everyone on this post who applied hasn't heard ANYTHING!
Nothing at all. Not even a thanks, but no thanks. And I am local! And licensed! I am disappointed, for sure. I am applying everywhere I can. I hope that something will happen for me but I am going to have to take another kind of job. I've been trying to get a Dispatch job for about 4 months now. I am trying to be optimistic but it's hard. I don't want to sound like a whiner! I am just anxious to get a job before I forget what I have learned! I don't know what else I can do......

SkyWest typically has a class of new hires every April which means the job should be posted again in the near future should the cycle hold true. There is a lot of training going on right now so it may be pushed back a bit. They also prefer to hire those with experience but will hire newbies if it fits.

I've heard that there wi be possibly another class being posted as this class hasn't been nailed down to count yet - head between 11-17 now but could be more soon as well.
