I sent in an application 1 week ago and did not get the denial email that I usually get. Anyone know if they are still hiring alot?

How can I get their attention?
 
how are things John?

with the Colgan upgrade time increasing to 2 years and the crappy second year pay, i may have to look elsewhere

Are you at Colgan now? Or are we still taking about it?

Here's an idea - don't chase upgrade times :).
 
Its not about the length of the upgrade. Express Jet 2nd year is 34 dollars an hour. COlgan 2 year is 24 if you dont upgrade, that is the issue.
 
IF i go to Colgan and i dont upgrade soon, I will be stuck making 23000 dollars for 2 years because their pay scale for FO is based on the assumption that you will upgrade in 12-15mos so there is no increase between the first and second and third etc years. At XJT, you spend 1 year at 25000 then the second year you make 35ooo dollars w/o upgrading. I cant afford to make 23000 for more than 1 year. I can survive on 35000 at XJT and its pay i get that is not depending on an upgrade.

You'll also make way more per diem @ XJT than Colgan. It's pretty significant over time. I don't believe Colgan pays per diem unless you overnight, correct?

I think most of Colgan's trips are day trips, where as XJT has a nice mix. I don't work for XJT, but at the end of the month I get around $450 in tax free per diem. That's over $5k per year in additional income. I would assume XJT has similar trips.

What if Expressjet doesn't hire you?
 
I am not necessarily throwing them all in 1 basket. I am trying to make good choices. I need to make $$$ and have a stable position. I just cant take whatever comes along.

Like enduring stability for your entire career, or just stability for the next 6 to 12 months?
