Anyone on here work for them currently or in the past? Insight would be great.

Worked there many years ago, from what I hear now it's a mess, Fairbanks can be mentally and physically challenging, much more so than where I worked in Anchorage, a lot more to do around there and plenty of escape options... the DC-6 in my avatar is one of theirs.
I'd probably prefer Fairbanks if it was anywhere near mountains. It's really not and there's not really any skiing either. And the fishing sucks. You get over the cold rather quickly if you're younger than say 50 though. It's much closer to a real frontier town.Anchorage was manageable, Fairbanks is a totally different animal
