Ever wonder what 1800 RVR looks like?

A Cat II approach is probably the coolest thing I've ever done in an airplane. At first I was bummed about losing the landing, but at the end of it I was pretty excited.

1800 RVR...wusses! When you get 600/400/400RVR...come talk :)...haha

I was in the seat for a 700 RVR autoland...that was pretty wild. The autopilot did an amazing job; probably one of the smoothest landings I've seen. Hardest part was finding the ramp.

Our autopilot in the CRJ sucks...balls. I have a theory that I've been trying to circulate that it is really a drunken gnome that lives in the avionics bay. He has a yoke and a PFD and that is it. As a cruel joke he trims it insanely nose forward before you disconnect the autopilot to land.

Better yet, how does it mount it in the RJ.. I have a friend, who loves his GoPro, but is looking for ways to mount it in the CRJ..

Not a go pro, but I have a friend that came up with a pretty good camera mount for any camera with a tripod thread on the bottom. Buy one of those mini tripods, take the part that screws into the bottom of the camera out and superglue it to one of those clips that is used to close an already opened bag of potato chips. Use the clip to mount on the glare shield.

Man your 1800 RVR looks a LOT better than my, uh, "1800 RVR" in an MU-2 flying from the right seat because the A/I went out on the left side. Must've been different brands of RVR sensors, or something. *cough*. :)

I may have to tell my friend to try that out. He has a pretty good suction cup mount he's using now, but there's no real good spot to mount it.

I've seen some videos he's taken in cruise and I was surprised at how little vibration there was...in cruise.

You seriously put cameras in your airplanes of your own volition? The notion of my various High Crimes and Misdemeanors over the last decade or so being filmed gives me the howling fantods. God between me and a video camera!

Nice Video, BUT your buddy did almost float out of the touchdown zone, what's up with that man? He is going to take Travis' spot as a floater.
