ERJ-145 vs. CRJ-200

Having flown both, I agree the 145 trumps the 200 in everything except top speed (you know, for when you're on your last leg and have to make a commute). The 700/900 definitely trumps the 145 (including the XR).

Ha especially when we used to fly the 145 EP's out of Denver. Sorry we can only take 30 passengers cause we are weight restricted.

Curious to know the difference in operating costs/efficiency between the two... Mainly fuel consumption. Could anyone shed some light?

A few minutes matter when you're catching a commute. I'm just saying.
This. I'm all for block or better except when it's the go home leg. Depending on the commute hose few minutes can be the difference between getting to sleep in my own bed and another night in a crash pad.

Even if you're late?
Generally, it's the Man's airplane and I fly it their way.

But when I have Brand Z's passengers on board, and we're way, way late because of well, reasons, it's probably a good idea to ignore the Man's cost index program and fly fast.

We use "target gate arrival" times and TCI/"Tactical Cost Index".

If you target gate arrival time is between 1202Z and 1213Z, you'll adjust your cost index to values corresponding to "TCI FAST", "TCI SLOW", "TCI NONE" in order to get into the window.

I don't know, I hate being late because ultimately, I'm going to start a chain reaction that's going to screw up my commute or my layover.

OF COURSe they use "tactical" CI. What was your call sign in the service Derg? :)

Operation Clockwork lives on.

My personal favorite is when SmartCI tells me to slow down, to ensure that the next leg departs on time.

"erm, begging your pardon, sir..."
