Envoy (American eagle) to reduce pilots

I think if regionals are folding up left and right it will drive pilots away.

Not me. The pay rates are keeping applicants away from the regionals. The goal for most pilots heading to the regionals is to get onto mainline one day. Where there's a will, there's a way. There are other options out there.

Yes, the pay sucks, but I would counter that the bigger thing is indeed the 1500 hrs requirement. One can argue about the qualifications of a wet multi-comm ticket flying pax, but when the hours requirement was less, there didnt seem to be any problem filling classes....But the combination of crap pay and more hours is hte one-two punch.....

Yup. The crap pay is now extended an extra 1-2 years as a result. CFI pay still sucks at most places.

We have started to see some increases with C5 increasing pay. Hopefully they are just the beginning.

Envoy's CEO recently sent a communication out to the company. This article hits the highlights, but, basically, it says that while the E140s will be retired, that CRJ-700s will remain at Envoy for the foreseeable future. The communication also states, "While new, larger aircraft will not be placed on our certificate in the near-term, AAG does hope we will be able to fly larger and more cost-effective aircraft in the future."

An announcement regarding the placement of the first E175s is expected by the middle of this month at the latest.

It is difficult not to notice the timing of this communication, since it appears to be a response to the MEC chair's email from May 1st.
